FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We consider a “special order” an order for miniature donuts, giant donuts, donut letters, special donut holes, custom donuts, or for any order of our regular donuts in excess of two dozen.
To place a special order, you can either send us a message or give us a call at (213) 995-6191. We accept phone calls for special orders only during regular business hours of 9am to 5pm, Tuesday through Friday, and if we do not have the staff available to take your order when you call, we will do our best to call you back by the end of the day.
Due to the constraints of our small kitchen, we can only accommodate so many special orders at one time. In order to ensure we have the staff and resources necessary to complete your order, it must be finalized at least two full business days in advance. For example, if you would like an order of donut letters for Tuesday morning, it needs to be placed by Thursday morning the week before. We may still be able to accommodate an order with less notice, but it would be subject to a 20% rush fee, or a 30% rush fee with less than 24 hours notice.
We do not do delivery ourselves, but you do have a couple of options if you do not want to see our bright and smiling faces in the shop:
For our regular donuts, you can order and request delivery online through our website, Facebook page, and our ChowNow app for Android and iOS. Delivery cost is based on distance, and is handled by ChowNow. Click the “Order Now!” link above to get started!
- For special orders (donut cakes, donut letters, mini donuts, etc.), we can arrange for delivery through a third party messenger company called Deliver LA. The cost is approximately $35 + $1.35 per mile, but we won’t know for sure until we have the delivery address and time. Nights and weekends are considerably more expensive than during regular business hours.
We’re flattered that you’d like to try our donuts, but unfortunately they wouldn’t survive the trip!
We get a lot of requests for shipping, though, so it’s something we are definitely looking to do in the future!
If you really must cancel your order, please give us at least 48 hours notice for a full refund. Orders canceled between 48 and 24 hours ahead are subject to a 30% cancelation fee. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds on any orders canceled with less than 24 hours notice.
You can place a special order for a donut cake between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Tuesday through Friday.
A donut cake can either be two tiers or three tiers. Two tier donut cakes are composed of 14 donuts, and three tier donut cakes are composed of 21 donuts.
We require that each tier be of the same donut. For example, if you order a three tier cake, then you can choose three different donut combinations to make up your cake, and each layer will be a different donut.
You can place a special order for donut letters between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Tuesday through Friday.
There is a 10 letter minimum for donut letters.
Our letters are cut out of our raised dough. We are unable to make letters out of our cake or Gluten Freeish batter.
Donut Letters start at $2 each, plus $1 for any fillings and $.50 for any toppings.
Any of our Signature Combinations can be made into a donut letter for an extra $1.
We can do the letters A-Z, the numbers 0-9, and a few punctuation marks.
You can place orders for miniature donuts by email, or by calling the shop between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Tuesday through Friday.
Our miniature donuts are cut out of our raised dough, so we are unfortunately unable to make miniature donuts out of any of our cakes or Gluten Freeish.
Miniature donuts start at $1.25 each, plus $.50 per filling and $.25 per topping. We require a minimum of 24 miniature donuts per order, and 12 miniature donuts per flavor combination.
Any of our Signature Donuts can be made into a miniature donut. Because they are made out of our raised dough only, some Signature Combinations may have to be modified.
You can place a special order for a giant donut between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Tuesday through Friday.
Giant donuts start at $10 each, plus $3 per filling, and $2 per topping.
Giant donuts are approximately between 7 and 8 inches in diameter.
We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7am to 10pm. On Friday and Saturday we are open 7am to Midnight!
We can have special orders ready as early as 8am Tuesday through Saturday, and 12pm on Sundays.
We are unable to provide full catering services at this time, but we can work with you to come up with fun and interesting treats for your event. Please email us at email@example.com to get started!
That really depends on what twelve donuts you want! Since all of our donuts are priced differently, the cost for a dozen donuts can vary. However, we do offer a 10% discount on any 12 donuts from our display case!
All of them! We do stock a few non-vegan milks for coffee and drinks, but we don’t use it in any food items. Everything you see is egg and dairy free!
None of them. However, we can make any of our Signature Combinations with a raised, chocolate, or vanilla base relatively gluten free using our Gluten Free(ish) donut as the base instead. Please keep in mind that, although our recipe doesn’t not use any wheat flour, our kitchen is not a certified gluten free kitchen and we fry the donuts in the same oil as regular donuts. We recommend people with highly sensitive allergies to gluten avoid our Gluten Free(ish) donut entirely.
Yes, some of our fillings or toppings do contain nuts, and we do process nuts in our kitchen.
All of our donuts contain some amount of soy, as do all of our vegan pastry cream, vegan chocolate cream, vegan whipped cream, chocolate curls, chocolate sprinkles, crushed Oreos, graham cracker crumbs, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate hazelnut spread, and peanut butter.
Yes! We sell reloadable gift cards in any denomination you’d like! You can purchase them in our shop or online. Click on the Merch link above!
Strawberrylab, hands down. Seriously, it’s ridiculous how much more popular that donut is over the other ones.
Our Highland Park shop is the first of what will hopefully be many locations!
